To start your child off on stained glass windows for children project, you must first start by drawing a design on the back of black coloured construction paper. Use a white crayon for this and allow an inch of space around the paper. Next, cut up the picture parts with the help of a pair of scissors. Be careful to cut in a gentle manner and then fold the paper (or bend it) gently near the centre of each section.
In order to accentuate a section you will need to teach your child to make use of various colours which can be used in each section that was cut in the previous step. Once this is done, you will then need to teach your child to use some glue which is to be used in thin lines on the construction paper segments. Do this section by section until all the sections have been glued.
Simply turn the construction paper over as this will show the stained glass windows for children. The black coloured construction paper will start looking like artificial lead lines and the acetate will resemble real glass. This is all that it takes to teach a child how to create their own stained glass windows for children.
Remember, that very young children will find it very difficult to deal with intricate designs and so make sure that you start them off by making them use simple shapes like a triangle or rectangle.
